Misclicked

So, I was sitting there watching the cave with my auto refresher turned to two second and then turned away for a moment. When I turned back the was a thunder sitting in the cave! I snatched the computer mouse and clicked it. Only one problem. The moment before I clicked it refreshed, replacing the thunder egg with this. :( I guess I won't be able to get another egg until 8:00 when I can abandon it. Bummer...

Ranger

Does this sound like a bad trade to you?

Allison, again. :)

So I was on the chat for DC trades (#dctrades) today, and this person wanted cave born glories. In exchange they were offering the other person a INBRED tinsel (Tinsels are the rarest dragon on DC.) and an INBRED thunder. Now, I haven't even been playing for a month yet, but that sounds like a bad deal to me. Having two glories at the moment, it makes me wonder. Why should I consider giving up a caveborn glory, when the rares this person was offering don't even have a clean lineage? Sounds to me like that guy/girl would be getting the better end of a trade. I guess what it comes down to is: Do you think inbreeding is bad on DC? Would you take an inbred dragon? Even if it was a tinsel? After all, if you really wanted it, I guess you could take it but not breed it. But I think for me, the temptation to breed the tinsel would be to much.
Do you like inbreeding? Tell us why or why not in the comments.

Oh, and an update on that paper egg from yesterday. No one wanted it, so I abandoned it. I got a Dino this morning, but I gave it to Ranger.

Allison

P.S.
By no means do I dislike people who don't mind inbreeding, it just isn't for me! I just think that dragons you trade should have a similar quality of lineage. You shouldn't ask for a caveborn or second gen, and give someone an inbred; especially if it was a new player who didn't yet have an opinion on inbreeding.

More good news.

My name is Allison, and I approve this message. :P

My Stripe has gendered!
http://dragcave.net/view/cfL2
But on the down side, he is another boy!! What is with this??? Why do my uninfluenced dragons keep gendering male? I don't get it. Oh well, I'm trying not to waste energy being angry over it. Its actually getting kind of amusing by now. :P I named him Stripes and Frills because his father is a Stripe, and his mother is a Frill.

My pink hatched:
http://dragcave.net/view/9kQZ
Probably to much to hope for it being a girl, huh? :P

My day glory also hatched:
http://dragcave.net/view/fNLh
Since I used influence, this one should be a girl! Woo! My night glory would have hatched today, but I fogged him so I would stay unlocked.

Got some cool goodies from the cave/AP!

http://dragcave.net/view/hBSW
Like this nebula! I don't like the long lineage, but oh well... It will do as a start, I suppose. At least I have a nebula now. And as another plus, it isn't inbred! :D You always have that risk with AP eggs. :( I hope it is one of the alt nebula's, I think they're cooler then the older nebula's.

And now for the best catch of the day... Drum roll please....

http://dragcave.net/view/eV4m
So happy!! This has to be the rarest thing I have on my scroll so far! :D

I also got a paper egg from the cave. But I'm not posting a link because I plan to trade it away. I'm not sure what I'll ask for in return. I think I'll just wait and see what people are willing to give me in return, if anything. Some might wonder why I'm getting rid of all those joke breeds like the Dino, cheese, and now the paper. I guess the answer is they just don't interest me as much as the "normal" dragons do.

Good news, bad news.

This post was brought to you by Allison. :P

Good news:

Pain in the Booty grew up today:
http://dragcave.net/view/H33W

And so did I Pink of You:
http://dragcave.net/view/Q3UD
I got inspired for her name when I was looking at pink nail polish when I was out with my mom the other day. The polishes were named things like "Pink Again" or "Pink Twice." (You know, sort of like phases Think Again, or Think Twice, but replacing Think with Pink. I thought it was clever.)

My Stripe egg hatched:
http://dragcave.net/view/cfL2
I hope its female, but with my luck with females, I kind of doubt it. :( I bet you're thinking, if she wants a female, why not have I Pink of You influence it to be female? Well, the Stripe hatched before IPOY (Abbreviating her name.) grew up. Plus, I was saving the influence for my Day glory. And if you're wondering, yes, I did influence the glory egg to be female.
Anyway, the Stripe will be cuter when it genders and gets its stripes.

Bad news:

I was going to go cave hunting this afternoon. And I did... But I picked up a dud gray egg on accident. :( And now I'm stuck with it until about eleven at night or something. :l Oh well, I'll abandon it tomorrow. Speaking of tomorrow, all three of my eggs (glories and pink.) should be hatching then. Yay for more space for new eggs!

In case you're wondering what I hope to find on my upcoming egg hunts, I'm determined to find a nebula, but they are really hard to get. I'd prefer a caveborn one. I got a neb egg off the abandoned page once, and it was inbred. :( But I'll take an AP nebula if I have to. To start. :) As long as it isn't inbred, I'm good. Of course, it having a short lineage would be nice too. ;)

My thoughts on the newest dragons and a few random scroll updates.

Allison here! (Telling who I am since blogs with two people or more on them can be annoying if you don't know who is talking.) I was bored, so I thought I would update you all with some of the tiniest new happenings on my scroll, and talk about what I think of the new May dragons.
First, scroll updates:
I've influenced my Night glory egg to be male (Not that it probably needs the influence, haha.) and when my female pink grows up, I'm going to influence my Day glory egg to be female. I'm excited for those to grow up so I can breed them! I'm already working out in my mind who I can gift their offspring to! When they grow up, I will definitely post the links so you can see how pretty they are. And if you are new to DC, don't cheat and use google images, wait for mine to grow up! :P JK. You can cheat and use google if you want. But, trust me, they are a pretty surprise.
My Misfit dragon gendered while I was gone earlier today: (Stupid male!)
http://dragcave.net/view/H33W
He will look like this when he grows up:
http://images4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20110524111819/dragcave/images/d/df/KCUS.gif
I'm thinking of naming him "Pain in the Booty" since his breed is described as being annoying, and also because I find him slightly annoying for not being female! Its nothing against males, its just that I need a female pygmy so I can breed my male pygmies to something. Overall, I find this new breed very cute! I love both adults!
The female looks like this:
http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20110524113857/dragcave/images/6/69/0uU7.gif
I also love the Dark Myst pygmies. Here is my adult male:
http://dragcave.net/view/sCj7
Isn't he cute? The females are just as, if not more, adorable:
http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20110524115314/dragcave/images/8/8a/68UY.gif
Next up is the seawyrm pygmy! I actually didn't think I was going to like those much, but now they are one of my favorites of the pygmies. My male:
http://dragcave.net/view/7bpL
The male artwork kind of annoys me because you have to squint a little to see the head. The females are easier to see:
http://images4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20110524103535/dragcave/images/4/4c/B7mb.gif.png
Both are very cute! They look foriegn, in a good way. Like some kind of Chinese dragon.
As for the last two, the Nilias and the Crimson Flares, they are my least favorites of the new releases, so I have yet to collect them. I like the Nilia better then the Crimsons.
The Nilia:

The Crimson:

Overall, all of the new dragons are great, and thanks to all of the great artists who helped make them! You all have great talent.

Which is YOUR favorite of the new dragons, followers? Tell us at lifewithdragons@gmail.com, or in the comments!

A Bit About My DragonCave Experience

So I'm Allison. This blog will be for me and my online friend Ranger (Not sure if he'll want to go by that, or his first name on here, we'll see.) to post about our Dragon Cave accounts, and any interesting experiences we've had on the site.
Don't know what Dragoncave is? Its pretty much a free "adoptables" site were you can raise your own virtual dragons. There is a Wiki for it if you want more information. I'm sure if you google Dragon Cave Wiki it will pop right up. Anyway, for now I'm going to assume that if you are going to read this that you have an account. Don't know why you would want to read this if you didn't have one. If you don't have one, the best way to learn is to get an account. If you are interested in signing up, the main site is here:
http://dragcave.net/
Anyway...
Here is my account:
http://dragcave.net/user/Allison8
Some interesting things about my account: I had a streak going where I got at least fifteen male dragons in a row and did not get a single female dragon during that time span. No joke. The only way I was able to break the "curse" of the male dragons was by having Ranger breed me a pink egg, influence it to be female, and then gift it to me as a hatchling. You can view the "curse breaking" pink here:
http://dragcave.net/view/Q3UD
Also I got a cheese egg and a Dino egg (Both rare dragons. Although, they aren't really dragons, but "joke breeds.") from the cave on the same day. I traded the Dino away and got this pretty Stripe egg in exchange:
http://dragcave.net/lineage/cfL2
As for the cheese egg, I abandoned it because it was locking my scroll. Good thing I did too, because later that day I got a Day glory egg at about four in the afternoon, and later that day, after I abandoned a Terrae egg, I got a NIGHT glory egg at about 9 at night! Wow!

Well, I hope you'll enjoy our blog enough to stick around!
